Upcoming Tutor Training Workshops
In order to become a tutor, you must take 12 hours of literacy training. We offer 2 separate workshops to choose from. Each workshop is divided into four 3-hour sessions. Attendance at all four sessions is required.
- First, you must attend a 1-hour Information Session to determine if Literacy Volunteers is the right choice for you.
- Choose a workshop that best suits your schedule, and notify LVOY that you plan to attend.
- Attend the Orientation Session for the Workshop you have chosen. At the completion of the Orientation Session, notify LVOY if you prefer the BLL or ELL track.
- You are then required to attend Session 1, Session 2 and Successful Tutoring for the track you choose.

In-Service Schedule: In-service presentations highlight areas of interest not necessarily covered in tutor training. It is recommended that tutors try to attend at least one, or more, sessions.
